Materials that will be used during the year include graphite, charcoal, pastels, oil pastels, markers, watercolour and acrylic paints. Other media such as clay, mixed media collage, and printmaking may also our planet be explored.

Children will work on a range of projects, with most running over several weeks. Projects are based on a specific learning outcome, but are also designed to give students freedom to be imaginative and develop their creative ideas.

 Term 3, 2021

In Term 3 we'll be exploring a big theme... Nature! Nature has always been an inspiration to artists. From grand landscapes to animal life to all the fascinating shapes and textures, there's a lot to explore. I've noticed that at this time there are many artists exploring nature in their work to raise awareness and express concern over the critical place we are at right now with our planet. So, I'd like to do one project that explores some of the urgent environmental issues we are facing right now. And, as there has been quite a lot of drawing so far this year, we'll also mix it up and do some printmaking and collage as a way of exploring shapes and textures from nature.
